Summer Reading Club

Summer Fun at the Library!

Camrose Public Library is happy to be bringing you another summer of reading and fun! Our summer activities, reading club, and book bike are all back this year to keep you entertained and reading!

Due to COVID-19, a lot of our activities will be online. Please see our schedule below for details about online programs. Our in-person activities will be outdoors with the book bike. We will be at parks, the Downtown Market, and helping with two fun weekly events: Yoga in the Park and Mindfulness Nature Walks! We hope to have space for everyone to join our activities, but if we don't, we'll be happy to lend you one of our many activity kits or a book! All activities will be designed with COVID-19 prevention in mind, following guidelines set out by the Government of Alberta.

We're also launching our new Front Porch Storytime service this summer! Thursday afternoons from 2-4, the book bike will come by your place, drop off your holds, and read you a story or two! To request a half-hour visit, please email jmatzner@prl.ab.ca or call the library.

Starting August 11th, we will have our annual book giveaway featuring brand new books from Canada's best publishers. Come by the book bike to get a free copy!

Also back this year is the TD Summer Reading Club! The program helps to connect families with books and build confidence and love of reading. Register online at https://www.tdsummerreadingclub.ca/ or email the attached form to jmatzner@prl.ab.ca to access free ebooks, read a webcomic, and share book recommendations, jokes, silly stories, and more with children across the country. Participants can also vote for their favourite summer read as books go head-to-head each week as part of the new Battle of the Books feature. New this year, the club will be offering 28 author/illustrator online readings and workshops.

We will also be posting lots of links to online stories and activities you can do yourself, so check out of social media for updates! Happy reading this summer!
